Dragon Age: Origins PC Requirements and My PC vs My PS3?

I haven't been able to answer some questions on my own, so I felt I'd place the question online, see what others thought, and see if I'd have any luck resolving my brain-freeze with this game.

First: Recommended requirements for the game are: Core 2 Quad, 2.4 Ghz or equivalent, 4 Gigs RAM (for Vista, which I'm running), Nvidia 8800 GTS 512 MB.

I have: Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz, 4 Gigs RAM, and a Nvidia 9600 GT (dragging this all off the on board Device Manager and associated menus).

Question 1 then is whether or not I could get the game running on a 'High' setting or better with decent results.

Question 2 is dependent on achieving the above 'High' setting and whether or not it will look better on my PC or on my PS3 which is HDMI attached to a 1080p, 47".

Gameplay isn't too big an issue for me as I have taken Bioware's information of 'PC: Tactical-feel, PS3: Action-feel' into advisement and I was a fan of the gameplay feel behind Mass Effect (to which the controls and play will appear to be familiar {I.E. no mouse-analogstick style}).

I'm more concerned with the first question, but figured I'd toss the second in there anyhow. Any knowledgable insight is appreciated. Thanks in advance.Dragon Age: Origins PC Requirements and My PC vs My PS3?
There is a huge thread about this on the Dragon Age message board. I personally have a 9600 GT and an AMD athlon dual core at 3.0 Ghz (the quality of your processor is the same). I have been assured that I will be able to run the game at high settings. I've read that the video quality of the console version looks like the PC version on medium.

Because of the old hardware, console versions do not have a zoom out function. In the PC version you can choose to zoom out to go to a top-down perspective, like Baldur's Gate, while in the console versions you can only play in third person view. Zooming out causes more objects and characters to appear on screen and consoles can't handle this. Your PC, however, can.

Note that for the best result your resolution can't be too high, but I'm quite sure the console versions will run in 720p mode and your PC can go higher than that.

The developers have also said that the video card is the most important piece of hardware in your PC. Graphics programmer Andreas Papathanasis of Bioware said the following:

"Especially concerning CPU and system memory, you guys shouldn't be worrying as much about meeting the recommended system requirements for playing this game. I run the game fine on my 2 gig vista/2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo machine at home, and I'd be suprised if someone experienced significant performance gains when running Dragon Age on a quad core CPU, compared to an otherwise identical setup with a dual core CPU. The video card will probably affect your experience more."

So my advice is get the PC version.
