Anyone else think the game Dragon Age 2 is very repetitive?

I never played the first Origins game, but after playing Elder Scrolls Oblivion, the Fable games and the Zelda games in the past, I was looking for a different action RPG to try out. Several hours of gameplay later, my character is at level 7, but so far all I have been doing is performing little fetch quests while easily fighting small groups of enemies every once in a while. I'm disappointed the only areas I can go to are a castle, a small city and a sandy beach area. After hearing so many good reviews about Dragon Age 2, I expected it to be more epic and adventurous where I would be travelling farther distances and exploring far more interesting places.Anyone else think the game Dragon Age 2 is very repetitive?
Yes.. you should DEFINETLY play the Mass Effect Series, Start with the first Mass Effect, when you play the 2nd it will be very rewarding :)

What video game to get...Dragon Age Origins, Forza 3, Mass Effect?

I have Gears of War 2, Borderlands...i am getting Modern Warfare 2 and my brother is getting Assassins Creed 2, and i Still have a lot of spending money, and if i were to get another game, i would still have money for other things i want to get, so i want to get another game...the thing is i don't know what i want!

Dragon Age doesn't look to appealing but if you can tell me otherwise go ahead.

Forza 3 looks kind of cool, although i am not very fond of racing games at all.

Mass Effect looks like it can be good cuz it is an RPG, but i heard it is still pretty linear which i dont like. How many hours of gameplay can you get out of that game?

I want a game that was released this year mostly, so what do you suggest based on the genres i like: Role Playing and ShootersWhat video game to get...Dragon Age Origins, Forza 3, Mass Effect?
well I have Dragon Age, it's pretty fun. There is a lot of dialogue though and it's very story driven. I can't promise that you'll like it, but it's a badass game regardless. What video game to get...Dragon Age Origins, Forza 3, Mass Effect?
First of all im not a fan of racing games so this is a little biest, but i own mass effect (i assume your talking about the first one the second comes out early 2010) and have read a lot of articles about Dragon age. First of all both Mass effect and Dragon Age were created by Bioware in my opinion the best RPG company only challenged by Bethesda, so already they look good. Both have compeling stories and in Mass Effect you can chose from 3 options of youre past that effect the story mildly, but in Dragon Age you choose from 6 Origins that Greatly Effect Gameplay. You could probably get both since last year i got a used copy of Mass Effect for a friend that was only 15 dollars and its probably gone down. What video game to get...Dragon Age Origins, Forza 3, Mass Effect?
I haven't played Dragon age yet, but do play to get it, however I have the other two.

Forza 3 is just plain awesome. The driving physics are great each car truly feels different. The graphics are stunning. Lots of fun. Totally not a RPG like the other two games. And since you aren't fond of racing games, this should be at the bottom of your list.

Mass Effect. Great game, very fun, repeat play value, cheap, sequel not to far off from being released. If you play a lot, you can finish this fairly quick. The side quests aren't too long, but the game still plays well. As for linear, sort of. The questing isn't linear, but the worlds are. No free roaming like fallout or oblivion...

They are two different types of games. Personally, I would get Ratchet and Clank, but I'm also a long time fan of the series. In all honesty though, Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time seems to be the best of the series which is saying a lot.Should i get Rachet and Clank: a Crack in time or Dragon age : origins?

Is the Dragon Age Origins combat system so bad it can put someone off buying/playingit?

I love story-driven immersive games. Bioware's Mass Effect was one such game, as was Zelda Ocarina of Time (when I was in my early teens). Both of these had story and quality gameplay that kept you more or less in one world.

Now I've been watching a lot of Dragon Age gamepaly videos/walkthroughs and I'm really loving the dialogue and story segments, especially the way the characters are developed and choices have to be made etc. HOWEVER, the combat system looks AWFUL!!! As soon as the dialogue and story parts finish, it seems to revert from being fantastic realistic escapism to what looks like cheap kiddy slash and dash, with multi-coloured circles under your feet and numbers popping into the air, etc.

With a lot of other good games out there (I'm still planning to get Mass Effect by the same developers), I'm not sure if this comabt system will put me off or not. I know the game is very long, but if it's 60 or so hours of this cheapy combat, then I don't know if I can last that long.

If you've played the game, do you think that the combat system is really that bad? Do you think I will still find incentive to play despite my dislike for such a combat system? Is the Dragon Age Origins combat system so bad it can put someone off buying/playingit?
No, the combat system is not that bad. It plays like an RPG. Your characters will automatically attack with a button press, but you have full control over what skills they use and when. You can also set various parameters for your party members to use their skills in specific situations. Dragon Age isn't a hack and slash game by any means. Is the Dragon Age Origins combat system so bad it can put someone off buying/playingit?
Ive played both DAO and DAA as well as ME 1 %26amp; 2. When your into ME you'd thinl that DAO is not as awsome as ME, however upon starting another playthrough of DAO/A, you'd get immersed in it and forget ME for a bit. They are both brilliant games. Is the Dragon Age Origins combat system so bad it can put someone off buying/playingit?
videos are decieving, just because it has an actionbar system doesnt mean it is very bad, it comes in level with ME2 in my books.
Well what platform are you interested in playing on?

Bear in mind that Bioware makes most of their games for PC, then port them to consoles. (ME2 was designed on consoles first, though). Cheap kiddy slash and dash? Have you never played an RPG before? Or rather, a Knights of the Old Republic game before? The combat system between the 2 games are very similar. If you have played KOTOR before, and liked the combat system, then Dragon Age won't be very different.

I made the mistake of getting Dragon Age on ps3. Everything about the game was great except for the combat. Me being mostly a PC gamer. I couldn't help but feel bothered at the fact that they crammed such an intuitive and complex combat system onto a console. Navigating the radial menu was cumbersome, and broke the flow of combat. And there a total lack of interface customization and camera options. Most other console gamers probably won't notice my issues, though.

I did, however. Return Dragon Age and bought it again on my PC. Everything about the game improved. Combat was also alot easier on the console version of the game. The "normal" mode on PC is incredibly difficult compared to the "normal" mode on consoles. The combat isn't out of the ordinary for an RPG game, but is complex, relentless, and highly tactical, and I even find it to be addicting.

Anybody else find dragon age origins boring? And should I finish playing it?

Mass effect is my favorite game series of all time so I thought that I would enjoy Dragon age origins too (they are both made by bioware) so I borrowed it from a friend but instead I found it boring and tedious. I did really like the story and characters but the combat and gameplay weren't enjoyable at all. People say you have to pause and strategise a lot which doesn't appeal to me which makes sense because I kinda liked the combat in the dragon age 2 demo. I was playing a warrior but when I tried the mage it was atleast more fun. Anyway should I give the game another try, maybe as a mage?Anybody else find dragon age origins boring? And should I finish playing it?
the combat isn't for everyone and the story is really Identical to the first Mass Effect but its the choices that you make and see what happens is what is fun sure the combat isn't as fun as like Kingdoms of Amalur but it can be fun as a mage to see all the cool spells and stuff also if you are playing on console you don't get the overhead view to make more strategic actions so combat can get hard on the harder difficulties especially as a mage if i was you give it a shot on a mage and make sure to be on the easiet difficulty if on console because you can hurt your allies and it will become annoying having to worry about not killing them.

Castlevania LoS or Dragon Age 2?

Alright guys. I'd probably buy both, since I have a job, but I feel like its a waste of hard earned money. So Ill probably buy one, and rent the other. I need to know your opinion people of yahoo. NOTE: I AM WELL AWARE THAT DRAGON AGE 2 HASN'T COME OUT. But the demo is pretty good at giving you an idea of how good the game will be. So..

Castlevania Lord of shadows: Pretty simple controls, beautiful fighting scenes, gory, pure enjoyable action and yet VERY simple, kick anyone's *** with a button or two. I really like theese types of games honestly, very similar to God of War (Not that it bothers me at ALL) , beautiful graphics, its pretty much a very good game and I know I would not regret buying it. How long is it? Im not sure. Lasting appeal? Not sure either, maybe Ill beat it once, then again on a harder difficulty, then maybe one more time in the hardest difficulty. Thing is , theres really no exploring as far as Im aware, I think its just "Go from point A to point B and kick anyones *** in the way". So that might affect the lasting appeal alittle. Maybe.

Dragon Age 2: It is definitely gory as well, good story as far as Im aware. Ive played the demo, Im quite comfortable with the playing style, as I love all final fantasy's. Difference is, no waiting in between attacks, so its pretty much action till the end. I hear its gonna be about 40-50 hours of gameplay (Not sure about this one either, but since this game includes side quests and wondering around(I THINK) this game should be significantly long) so it SHOULD keep me busy for quite a while. I like the overall battle system. The bosses look like they could be a challenge. Here's something, I like games with hard *** bosses, I like thoose kinds of games that have bosses that require you to try, and try, and try again, to the point where you start getting mad. I dont know, its just fun I guess.

Well, I think thats all the info you guys need. Honest opinions please!Castlevania LoS or Dragon Age 2?
honestly dragon age 2 you can customized your party the game has high replay value as you have different classes to try out as well as its 60 hours long so its really not a hard decsion and castlevania it 10 hours long which is pretty good considering all these other games out now a days obnly be 4 to 5 hours long but it has no replay value at all no different costumes (which stopped me from getting it), you cant customize your character nor can you do half the stuff you can do on dragon age 2 so it up to you but i gave you my opinion bro

    Dragon age origins trouble?

I am having 3 major problems with dragon age that I hope someone will be able to address.

    1. Registration: I am posting in YA because I cannot post in the BioWare network because the registration won't accept my CD code even though the installation process had no issues with it

    2. Gameplay: Even though I have set some party members to "aggressive" they will still only attack when attacked and stand idly by while another party member fights right next to them.

    3. Graphics: Resolution is on 800x600. My screen is 1360x778 but when i change it nothing happens. My specs

    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 450@ 2.40GHz, 4GB RAM

    Graphics: GeForce GT 330M

If you have any idea about fixing any of these problems that would be very much appreciated.Dragon age origins trouble?
I can only help you with #2. That's normal, the AI combat in this game is pretty slow. Make sure that you don't have the "hold" button toggled on for any of them. Otherwise you are going to have to micromanage a bit more if you want your party to function smoothly.

Even if you can't register you should still be able to contact tech support through the EA website. I'm wondering if someone else used your CD code, did you buy the game used?

  • Dragon Age: Origins - I need some answers pls.?

I just started playing Dragon Age: Origins and I must say, this is my latest 'personal brand of heroine' since playing Zhu Xian Online and Perfect World, both also an mmorpg game. I love the gameplay, the graphics, the environment, the characters, even if I'm just starting to play the game. I'm an RPG addicted fan so that's why I'm addicted to this type of games. But I have a series of questions to all the players who already played this game.

    1. After finishing the game, will I still be able to play my character? Or the character is just a one-time use only to finish one new game and have to create another just to play a new one?

    2. After finishing the game, will I have a free roam? You know like grinding for more monsters to level up and hunt rare items usually like in online games.

    3. If I create another character, will my current character be overwritten or lost? Or will I have a selection of my created characters?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE! BEST ANSWER IS WAITING!Dragon Age: Origins - I need some answers pls.?
1-2. no, after you finish the game there is no free roam. You can still however finosh downloadable content if you didnt get to it.

3.no, your new character will not override your old one.Dragon Age: Origins - I need some answers pls.?
jose is right, the other guy was wrong, just thought i'd let you know since you had 2 different answers up there

xoxoDragon Age: Origins - I need some answers pls.?
    1. No, you can only play the downloadable content after the game has ended. But, there is an expansion coming soon in which you can continue with your old character.

    2. No, once it's over it's over.

    3. No, you can make as many characters as you want and switch back and forth between them.

Dragon Age Orgins - Couple of Questions - 10 Pts best answer?

    Hey all.

Been looking at the game Dragon Age..and theres a few things I want to know that I cant find out on the internet or youtube for some reason..the questions are:

    Whats the highest level?

Is there much customization like in other MMO's? (WoW in mind) like skill and talent improvements.

Can you get many hours of gameplay out of the game? if so how many have you had?

What would you rate the game out of 10?

Thanks all for your answers in advance.Dragon Age Orgins - Couple of Questions - 10 Pts best answer?
The hard level cap is 25, though most people when they are finished (depending on how many sidequests/dlc's they have done) are levels 18-23. The only real way to reach 25 is to use the console (pc version).

You can customize your character in that you can be a healer, tank, melee/ranged damage dealer, or caster damage dealer, etc. through specializations and skills. It's not quite as customizable as WoW, but with Awakenings new trees will be added for each class.

I've got quite a lot of gameplay out of this game. I've played through it a few times now, from different perspectives- it's just different enough to keep my attention.

I would give this game an 8/10. There really is quite a lot of content to get through, and the way some of the characters draw you in and make you care- whether you love them or hate them- really goes a long way toward making it interesting. Some of them say some quite funny things :)Dragon Age Orgins - Couple of Questions - 10 Pts best answer?
Highest Level is 20. The Awakening Expansion Pack due out next month raises it somewhere in the 30's

There's plenty of customization, in terms of wow picture a talent tree for different types of weapons (Dual Wield, Weapon and Shield, Bow and Arrow and Two Handed) as well as More trees for your class and class specializations.

One play through is about 25-30 hours, 40 if you do everything. There are also 3 different classes and 3 races each with your choice of background story

9/10 There are a few bugs here and there and the game isn't innovative in any sort of way, but BioWare really took the RPG genre a step higher with this game.Dragon Age Orgins - Couple of Questions - 10 Pts best answer?
Alright well the levels go pretty high i think but it is not an MMO its just a RPG

With all the side quest you could prolly get about 20 hours of game play out of it. i beat the game in about 14 hours but i got stuck at some points...and messed around at others and i also only played through on a human mage didn't make any of the other characters you could have

And i would rate this an 8 out of 10 deff. worth checking out if you liked games like oblivion but no for a noob to RPG's cause you can get stuck easily.
Because creatures don't respawn, there is a limit to the amount of experience you can get. Depending on how much you complete in a playthrough you will find the highest level to be around 22. There is an exploit for infinite experience gain, which has revealed a hard cap of level 25, but it is not possible to reach this level in normal gameplay. It is assumed that when more dowloadable content and expansions are released the hard cap of level 25 will be raised.

There is customization, but it is somewhat limited. For warriors you will find many different sets of armor, but for mages you will likely only switch robes about 3-4 times. For talent/skill improvements, there is a variety of ways you can use each class. You can make a mage specialise in dealing damage or healing or weakening enemies and many other schools. Warriors can use a sword and shield, be two-handed, bows etc. Rogues can dual-wield daggers and use bows. Mages are the most variable class.

Each class also has four specializations to choose from, which leads to extra available talents and skills.

You can definitely get many hours out of the game. For your first playthrough, if it is a complete one, you will get 40+ hours. There are many incentives to multiple playthroughs (using different companions, making different story decisions, trying a different class...) and if you use mods this potential gets even greater. Downloadable content and an upcoming expansion also adds to the play hours, so there's a lot to be had. In total I have played about 85 hours.

I would rate the game a 9/10 on a scale of how good it is, and a 10/10 on a scale of how much I recommend playing it.

Dragon Age: Origins vs Red Dead Redemption (PS3)?

I'm not sure which game to get, I've heard great things about both and I have the opportunity to get one of these tomorrow. I have other options such as Bioshock but I want these games to last me for a long time, I need a break from Battlefield Bad Company 2, and I want to play this and enjoy it, then go back to Bad Company 2 until November where I will be getting LBP 2, Infamous 2, and Assassins Creed Brotherhood. Out of these two I'm not sure which one to get.

Dragon Age: Origins: it's an RPG so it's long lasting, I like the style of gameplay and I like choosing. I like a deep and involving story. Some people say that it is 70% cutscenes which is a lot. I want to have some fun with the combat and just plain level up too. I played MGS4 and I didn't mind the cutscenes there, does this have less or more cutscenes than MGS4? I will probably play as much side quests as possible, and enjoy it, do the side quests get repetitive? Otherwise this seems interesting and this is my very first console RPG (other than fallout 3 but I didn't like that mainly for the environment, I'm not into the apocalyptic setting or story of the game, too boring IMO). But I hear it's like Guild Wars and I enjoyed Guild Wars on PC. (And no don't say get it for PC because I can't, my PC isn't good enough).

Red Dead Redemption: This also seems interesting. This is in the Wild-West, I love playing games that are set in the past and show the culture of the setting it's in (like Assassin's Creed 2, I REALLY enjoyed that game). Although it seems action-packed and fun, I need this to last me for a few months, not just a 20 hour game. I will be doing all side quests like in DA:O. Oh and I'm not too interested in the multiplayer, I will try it for a few hours but I can't see myself liking it too much. Plus I only have 1 friend who has played the game and doesn't play it anymore, he might play with me but not too long. I played GTA: SA and liked it for the first few hours, then it got boring. I like the environment, the action, horse-riding, etc.

Basically which one of these games will be lots of fun, last me a long time, and will be something that will blow my mind. Honestly I'm looking a bit into Red Dead Redemption but I know that I will be done with that game mid-August at most. If it could last me throughout the summer then I might be able to get the Sly Cooper Collection in September but I doubt it will last me that long. So which one is the better choice? Oh and please only answer if you've played both.Dragon Age: Origins vs Red Dead Redemption (PS3)?
well i've only been on da:o but was gna buy rdr on monday or tuesday this week i think?

Anyway, finished DA;O sometime earlier this week, and wow.. just wow, this is an AMAZING rpg , and I cried nearly LOL. I would defo get this game, and the price is fantastic. I can litrally be glued to this game, and I started a new game on it today actually, and i've been glued to it AGAIN since 10am.

Anyways, I've never actually tried RDR as I said, but I heard at the end it's quite sad.

I really do suggest buying DA:O though, because it's a soft game, with lots of sad moments, humour (and the conversations between the characters + voicing is fantastic)

RDR doesn't really do me, its got too much violence in it really, and DA:O is a good, action-ish game with out the "frustration"

You can save it at any time you like, which personally i think is a +++

Depends though, which ever floats your boat.

Oh and um, with DA:O, you can create your own character, which will give you even more reason to play the game again and again.

HAVE FUN NOW!!Dragon Age: Origins vs Red Dead Redemption (PS3)?
Um I would pick Red Dead Redemption ive played both games and beat both campaign and with Red Dead Redemption you can still play online and free-roam but with Dragon Age Origins once you beat you cant do anythingDragon Age: Origins vs Red Dead Redemption (PS3)?
get red dead redemtion its awesome
With Dragon Age you can replay it a couple of different times as different builds but like any RPGs it can get old as the story is essentially the same. To answer your cutscene question, Dragon Age's cutscenes aren't that long and can be skipped so it's not really a problem.

Yes could say Red Dead is GTA in the old west but it still a lot of fun despite some of the missions not being very fun. Sure you may not be interested in Multiplayer but it's free and always a option.

So in the end just get Red Dead.

Dragon Age:Origins for xbox360, is it worth it?

Thinking about getting this game for the xbox, the only other games i've played that are sort of this style i guess would be Oblivion for the xbox... Any opinions/advice as to whether i should get it? I really liked Oblivion's gameplay, how you could sort of do anything you wanted to... is it similar?Dragon Age:Origins for xbox360, is it worth it?
you can do somewhat anything you want to do - but it is also somewhat guilded. You have to do certain quest chains to continue on in the story.

I liked it quite a bit, especially the interaction between the NPC's as well as the Player and certain NPC's. It was enjoyable and worth the dough I thought.

Only drawback is I had a hard time staying entertained playing through additional characters.

Gta 4 vs fallout 3 vs dragon age origins?

I like all the genres of games that these are. I like a good story, good gameplay, good-high replay value, and a good length. Which of these games is best? Its for Xbox, and I don't have live. And I don't really mind crappy graphics.Gta 4 vs fallout 3 vs dragon age origins?
    don't get dragon age: origans!!

it is a completeflop on gameplay story AND graphicsGta 4 vs fallout 3 vs dragon age origins?
GTA 4 good gameplay, and good story. Fallout 3 good story and good gameplay though I recommend till new vegas comes out. I never played dragon age origins but I heard it was good. In the end my choice would be GTA 4 more interactive. But another game I would recommend is Red Dead Redemption so good!

  • Dragon Age: Origins Hints and Tips (Help)?

Hi, I have just finished my Dragon Age: Origins campaign for the first time, and I definitely did not do very well on it, having to shift onto easy setting many times, yet playing primarily on normal. I am about to play Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening, yet I am certain I will play Origins again. I would really appreciate anyone who could provide me a list of hints and tips to improve my gameplay, and any optimal way of playing through the game - order of gaining the allies, good party setups, skills that are necessary, trap usage, poison usage, how to enchant etc. Thank you!Dragon Age: Origins Hints and Tips (Help)?
The tips and hints you receive will vary greatly depending on how you prefer to play the game. Since you asked for hints on trap-use and poison-use, I assume you enjoy playing as a rogue. Personally, I prefer mage for many reasons. Choosing a different origin/class will add hours of interesting replay value.

This is how I play the game. Start as mage. Recruit Allistar and Morrigan. Use them often. For the final party slot, I include either Lelianna (as an archer) or Wynne. Equip Allistar with the best armor. Put all of his stat points into Constitution and Dexterity, so he'll basically never die. Also ensure that he has the Intimidate skill (or whatever it's called), so enemies swarm around him and not the tender mages. Next, make all mages into Spirit Healers, have them learn Cone of Cold, Mass Vulnerability, and Virulent Bomb. Cast the hex on a group of enemies. Freeze them in place with Cone of Cold. Cast Virulent Bomb on the weakest. Then hack away at that bombed enemy until it explodes. All surrounding enemies will also explode. It's a really awesome strategy.

Also, try different ways of resolving problems in quests. For instance, instead of sacrificing Isolde to save Connor, have the Circle Mages perform the ritual using Lyrium and spend Morrigan into the Fade.

As far as quest line goes, I always choose to rescue the Arl first. Then I head to the Circle and do that quest, following that with the Dalish Elves quest and finally, the Dwarf quest. Try it some time. :)Dragon Age: Origins Hints and Tips (Help)?
I love playing as a rogue, because (among other things) you can make lots of cool grenades. Zevran comes equipped with Master Poison Making, so use him for that. Even if you don't like to have him in your party, you can leave camp with him, let him make lots of bombs, and then switch him out of your party. Learn how to make as many grenades as you can (buy the recipes); they can get you out of a tough spot if you're surrounded or battling something huge. You may also want to "teach" your mages basic Poison Making, so that they can throw bombs if they're in a tight spot - i.e., surrounded and one of the only party members left standing.

    That's just a small hint - I'm sure you'll get many more!

Dragon Age 1, Origins, or 2?

I have decided that im going to get Dragon Age. Never played any of them, i played the demo for the 2nd one and thought it was real cool, but that's it. I am more of a create-a-person-do-the-story-kill-things type gamer and that's why i think Dragon Age would be good for me. I played Mass Effect 2 and LOVED it and Dragon Age looks similar to that.

    ANYWAY,

which one should i get? (i know the 2nd one hasn't come out yet)

I like me a good story, and i dont really want to get confused and stuff and play them all out of order, but i played ME2 and not ME1 and still understood the story perfectly. So really im looking for the one with the best gameplay/graphics. I saw a video of the Origins one and everyone was talking about how good of a game it is and how much they like it. So i was leaning toward origins really. But if you think that the 1st one is better then please let me know! Also, could you tell me why you think so? I dont want people to just say 'Origins is wayyyy better', i want to know why.

THANK YOU SO MUCH IF YOU HELP ME!:DDragon Age 1, Origins, or 2?
first of all. there's Dragon age: Origins and then a expansion called dragon age: Awakening

there is also many other Down loadable content with alot of things to add on to dragon age. you need to have dragon age: origins in order to play Awakening. now there is Dragon age 2 but i don't know anything about that one. i would recommend just buying Dragon age: Origins and playing threw that cause its really fun.
the first one you will be able to create your own character and change his background story but it lacks the graphics of the second one my best bet would be too wait until the second one because the company made it so you dont have to play the first one to play the second one and the graphics are 100 times betterDragon Age 1, Origins, or 2?
Okay, I'll make this simpler for you. Currently, only ONE Dragon Age game has been released until today, and it is Dragon Age: Origins.

Awakening is the expansion pack for DA:O (you install it over DA:O). There are also many DLC packs for DA:O.

Dragon Age 2 is the one that's not released yet.

If you want to try out Dragon Age: Origins, I recommend you getting the Ultimate Edition. It'll save you the time to buy and download the DLC's/expansion one by one. This way, you'll get A LOT of content right after buying the game.

    Now, for the game itself:

I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for, to be honest. Bioware tried to apply what they learnt after making Mass Effect 2 on Dragon Age 2, which is why they're somewhat similar. However, Dragon Age is a lot less action-oriented than Mass Effect. Expect lots of planning, positioning, and pausing the game if you want to play well. That's why traditional RPG fans will love it more than the others.

I, for one, loved Dragon Age as an RPG more than Mass Effect (although I like Mass Effect 2 better as a game in general). The amount of content in DA:O might intimidate you a bit too, I heard it can go up to 50 hours per character. I said I heard because I haven't actually finished it lol (23 hours and counting). If that turns you off, I assure you that every moment in the game is good (except maybe the later part of The Fade.. You'll know what I mean when you play the game.)
ok mass effect is good the reason i think it so is because of mass effect 1 every thing you do in mass effect have and mass effect 2 wil have serous actions in mass effect 3 to

to say this literally u have the option of saving race of aliens in mass effect 1 in mass effect 2 they tel you thank you for saving us when the time comes we wil help you
but if you don't want to play mass effect 1 then DO NOT BUY MASS EFFECT 2 whit other words if can't play mass effect 1 like on PlayStation then drop it and ho for dragon age or origin since there you can take al actions and put them in the Dragon 2 ore THE WORLD whit other words on Dragon 2 you can create yore own char as well and when you are done whit origin you need a new game get dragon age 2 and you u put the save game transfer is not that important in dragon age 2 since u have the option of choosing what happened in origins but if you can and want my opinion than go for mass effect 1 and then later mass effect BUT DON'T BUY MASS EFFECT 2 IF U CAN'T PLAY MASS EFFECT 1 at least wait until mass effect 3 comes out then u may be able to but Collection on of games but PROMISE that when ur done whit dragon age origins u can go for the Dragon age 2 it Take some time to go trough dragon age Origin al the dlc that wil effect dragon age 2 is in this exact order that they must be played for it to work Dragon age origin Dragon age awakening Dragon age Golems of amgarrak and last Dragon age witch hunt IF ALL THIS IS NO POTION GO FOR DRAGON AGE 2Dragon Age 1, Origins, or 2?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there only two games: Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2.

Some people just happen to call Origins Dragon Age 1 because it is the first game and a second is on the horizon.

But there was a heap of DLC additions for Origins including Awakening which is the story that takes place immediately following the end of Origins and actually changes a bit to reflect the decisions you made in Origins (If you played it before you played Awakening). Awakening is not a separate game but it is often treated as such because of its length and depth... It's nothing like the other bits of DLC which either added content to the main Origins story (such as the Stone Prisoner DLC or Return to Ostegar) or were short side stories (such as Witch Hunt, the Dark Spawn Chronicles or Lelianna's Song)

If you are buying the game mainly for graphics then I have played both Origins (with all it's DLC) and the Dragon Age 2 demo: Dragon Age 2 certainly has smoother and better graphics, although not by much since Origins isn't too shabby.

Storywise, we can't say for certain until we get to play DA2 later this month... I'm eagerly awaiting my copy of Dragon Age 2 (with PreOrder Bonus in-game Fadeshear %26amp; The Lion of Orlais).

But because we are following the story of a completely different hero whose story started at the same time as the Grey Warden's in Origins, it does mean that you really can jump in straight at the 2nd game. And if you liked ME2, then you're in luck because DA is created by the same people responsible for ME.

I think there are only really 2 downsides to not playing Origins:

    1. It really was a very decent game with a gripping story and epic battles.

    2. I'm skeptical about how well you will Truly understand Flemeth, one of the main characters in DA2 (who we got to know too well... the monster) and you'll likely never understand any of countless Morrigan-Flemeth debates/conspiracy theories flooding the web.

I would choose to get and play both only because I hate doing anything by halves. But if you can't afford both and the two downsides above do not concern you, then I would just jump in at DA2.
There is no "Dragon Age 1"

The first Dragon Age game is Dragon Age: Origins. That's the only primary title that's been released. The game also contains a myriad of DLC's as well as a full expansion called Awakening.

So it really boils down to how much content you are seeking. The base Dragon Age: Origins game is probably pretty cheap by now, but there's also been an Ultimate Edition that contains every added content. (From side stories, to an extra party member, and also the Awakening expansion.)

If you are serious about experiencing the entire storyline, then the Ultimate Edition would be the way to go. It shouldn't be that much more expensive than a new copy of Origins. Better get at it while you can, because DA2 is quite different in terms of the base rules of the game.

Rather than paying full price for DA2 the moment it comes out (it's also going to release Day 1 dlc. THANKS, EA. THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WANT TO DO, SPEND MORE MONEY ON THE GAME AFTER BUYING THE GAME.) And it's also been widely reported that DA2 is significantly shorter than DA:O. So if you buy the ultimate edition, you'll get way WAY more game. considering the base game is already longer than DA2, add in the extra hours you'd spend on the dlc content and expansion, it's good investment while you wait for EA to release more DA2 DLC's and a price drop.

In Dragon Age: Origins, does the main story get more difficult if you progress in level through side quests?

I found this out the hard way in Oblivion: Elder Scrolls. It seemed, in Oblivion, that though all of the side quests leveled me correctly, providing enough challenge to be both fun and challenging, when I got back to the main quest, the monsters were nearly impossible even though I was a high level. Granted I didn't start Kavatch till I was nearly level 20, when I got there, I was murdered before even stepping through the portal.

    - spoilers present -

So, my worry is, in Dragon Age, I'm facing some nearly impossible foes now on the Normal gameplay setting. I can switch to Easy and still play well, but I'd rather not. I think the first town I came to I did all of the side quests I possibly could, only raising me to about level 7. Now, after moving from the town, I got to the mages "circle" in the main quest and got slaughtered by this Reverent, I think it was called.

I admit, I didn't know how to play these types of games, thinking RPGs like Fallout 3 and Oblivion would prep me, but I've got the hang of it now.

I was using a healer, a damaging mage, a tank, and my main, a rouge, and on the normal setting, I used all of my health items, nearly all my mana restoring items, and with more than efficient healing, my whole team died with the foe only losing half of its life. I know, I was like wtf.

So, again, if I level my squad with side quests without getting into the meat of the main story first, will the main story be incredibly difficult, almost to the point where I have to start over? I almost want to, though it's taken me some time to get to level 9. I'm still leveling, the foes just seem much harder than they should be on Normal, especially considering the more reasonable level of difficulty during the side quests.

Any ideas? Or has anybody experienced this problem with the game? Or does anybody even use Yahoo! Answers for Dragon Age help? Hello???

Thanks for reading, any help would be appreciated. In Dragon Age: Origins, does the main story get more difficult if you progress in level through side quests?
Before I begin let me note that I too am a fan of Oblivion, Fallout 3, Fable I %26amp; II, and pretty much any and all other RPGs out there.

I found out that Dragon Age: Origins is not your average rpg. There is the usual smash and loot element, but it goes a little further than that. If you can not put together a decent strategy based on the enemy than you don't really stand a chance. I am not sure if you take full advantage of the Tactics in the game but if you were to it helps significantly. In a way this game is an RPG with almost RTS like elements mixed in. RTS= Real Time Strategy.

I too am a fan of carrying out every side quest i possibly can. I feel that it shouldn't matter how high a level you are before moving further into the main quest as long as you can put together a decent plan of attack.

For Single Boss types, in this case the reverent, its important to have your healer's tactics set to heal, allies as well as their self, and cast stonefist, arcane bolt and any other offensive spell they may have. They should also be set to take lyrium potions when their mana falls below 25% so you dont have to switch back to them mid fight too often.

I also use a damaging mage, and i set their tactics to pretty much attack with everything including the kitchen sink. My mind set for the d. mage is "if all else fails go for the eyes." So basically their tactics should be set to an offensive style and they should be set to take lyrium potions if their mana falls below 25%.

As for the other two party members i have always liked to have two tank like characters.

For my main i am using a dual wielding warrior. i like to have him up close and personal since i am controlling him about 90% of the time i don't really spend to much time on setting his tactics. the main thing to keep in mind would be to set him use a health potion when health drops below 25% and the other tactics are set to attack with any and all special moves.

As for my last party member i like to use Sten or Zevran. For Sten you just need to have him swinging for the fences. I like to have him going all out on his attacks, the only problem is that he is usually the first one to die so "YOU" need to be keeping a close eye on him throughout the battle and keep his health up.

When i use Zevran I always poison his weapons because that little extra damage always helps. He can be set to a range character but I prefer him to be in the thick of things attacking from behind. which is kind of ironic considering his "actions" when you converse with him. Make sure you set him to attack with any and all special moves and when you need to, use the radial menu to reapply the poisons to his weapons.

As for group battles and group "boss-like" battles i like to use the old reliable method of hit and run when all else fails at least. If you are having trouble taking down a large group of enemies, try setting your party to hold at a distance and you go in solo. Get the attention of some of the enemies and have the follow you back to your "ambush" site. When you kill " your catch" wait and allow your health and stamina/mana to refill. then rinse and repeat. if you want you can also set up some booby traps to chip away their health before they get to you.

If that isn't something you are willing to try then i recommend you set morrigan to use her Cone of Cold on a group of enemies and then slash away. If you are strong enough you might shatter some of them. Just keep in mind that spell also freezes you and your party.

If you have any further questions just drop me a message and i will try to help.

hopefully this helps at least a little bit, or at the very least it gave you something to waste your time. lol big_boi_7778@yahoo.comIn Dragon Age: Origins, does the main story get more difficult if you progress in level through side quests?
Thanks a lot, matt and cameron both. I love the gameplay, and Normal hasn't been too difficult. I'm getting better as I play more as well. I guess I just wanted a concrete answer, whether or not the game actually gets harder as you progress. I'm sure we'll find out in time for certain. Thanks!

In Dragon Age: Origins, does the main story get more difficult if you progress in level through side quests?
The Revenant is a dangerous guy I saved him for when I was lvl 14 and above. Then went back for the other ones. You have to visit places multiple times anyway.

I used the same set of characters as you and went right through to the end. The best thing to do is buy a lot of materials to make potions. I had two stacks of 99 lesser and two stacks of greater for the sticky situations. I always had a lot materials on hand just in case. I also set the tac/auto heal at 75%, because at times they do not heal fast enough at 50%.

I started out buy buying 198 flasks in Ostagar and then went to the Brecilian Forest right after. the elf camp and bought 198 elf root. Can tell you this, this way of playing will not make you rich at all.

As with most rpg's it does get easier the more spells and such you have at your command. But the thing about this game I noticed is that playing through on easy was way too easy. Normal is tough but manageable. The foes do get harder the higher you go, but like I said with more and more spells at your command it is not unbearable. I made my healer able to cast all the stun spells as not to get hit and it worked out really well. In the end my mage and healer had pretty much the same build.

Just make sure you always have plenty of potions on hand. I would say buy that stuff before getting new armor or weapons. You will find most of what you need off of drops anyway. I just finished it on normal and trying hard and it is well... hard. :)

Oh and do not forget if you want a Blood Mage tell the demon possessing Conner that you would like to make a deal. I did not find that out until it was too late...

    Dragon Age Origins??????????????????

I wanted to know how long dragon age origins is because I was going to buy it but I want a long game like fallout 3. Please tell me how much hours of gameplay it is.Dragon Age Origins??????????????????

Should I Finish Dragon Age Orgins before moving onto Dragon Age 2?

ok i might know the answer to this but i really wanna play dragon age 2 though Orgins i know it has wonderful ! story but the combat is a little slow for me i enjoy fast action gameplay , would it be a good idea to skip Orgins and play dragon age 2?

what really pisses me off on this i bought both of them Orgins has all of the DLC when i bought it and , right there i sorta wasted money on it if i don't like it :/Should I Finish Dragon Age Orgins before moving onto Dragon Age 2?
I like Origins alot more. But DA2 does have faster combat that your looking for. I suggest finishing it. DA2 is a whole new storyline but you will undertand some thing better. And I think its better to import your origins character into DA2.
Yes skip it I know what you mean about the combat it's gay I skipped it and got dragon age 2 and it is my 2nd favorite game my 1st is skyrim. My advice though is to skip dragon age all together and get skyrim because you can do anything you can do in dragons ge pluss 1000000 hours of gameplay after you play for 100 hours there's still a ton to doShould I Finish Dragon Age Orgins before moving onto Dragon Age 2?
just finish it. its always good to finish the first part before moving onto the second
In truth Origins is better then 2 so what ever.Should I Finish Dragon Age Orgins before moving onto Dragon Age 2?
just finish it so you will understand the damn story

  • Dragon age series PC question?

I'm looking for a new RPG game after completing Mass Effect 2 and found BioWare have another RPG game - Dragon Age. If Mass Effect was that amazing, i would think dragon age would be as well. But after looking into a few gameplay, the combat system looks similar to that of WoW or any mmorpg where you move around using WASD, highlight an enemy and it starts auto attack and number keys for magic skill. Of course i have not played that game yet therefore i cannot be sure, so i'm here to ask anyone who played it before :

I've noticed there are a few characters following you, are they AI controlled or do you have to control each of them manually?

What is the pause system for?

How is the controls like? WASD to move, left mouse click to attack, number keys for magic?

That's all i could think of, but you can include anything worth mentioning.Dragon age series PC question?
The combat system in Dragon Age is akin to older Bioware games, namely Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights. The combat is basically similar across these games, and this type of combat is modeled after Dungeon's and Dragons rules, where attacks are decided based on dice rolls that are influenced by character stats. This form of combat emphasizes tactical decisions over brute force.

When combat begins, characters begin to auto attack while mixing in active attack abilities as per the tactics you designate for them. The party is AI controlled, but unlike Mass Effect, you can switch control between any character at any time.

The pause system is que up orders for your team. Combat in DA:O becomes quite hectic and can easily spiral out of control if you don't keep up with it. There are targets of high priority which come at different intervals in combat and with different specializations. Ranged caster/bow enemies may require some form of ranged crowd control, a powerful melee champion enemy may require attack and armor debuffs, and they need it NOW. Pausing is a good way to make sure the right party member does the right action. Things like this literally mean life or death in DA:O, as a move that comes too late or applied on the wrong target can cause a wipe. Pausing is a heavily tactical aspect of the game.

You can use WASD to move, right click to move, and so on. All you need to do is make sure your character is engaging the enemy you want him to, and he'll auto attack on his own. Number keys are for abilities.

Each character has something called a "Tactics Menu". Basically, you can define a condition in which that character uses an ability or item. You may want to make sure your tank drinks a weak health potion at 50% health, or a powerful health potion at 25% health. You may want your melee dps classes to stack armor debuffs on elite or higher ranked enemies. You may want your rogue to stun an enemy that made it past your tank to attack your healer. These are good way to make sure your party can remain somewhat independent, but you can't rely on these tactics to carry you through the game. Combat pausing will still be a necessity.Dragon age series PC question?
Dragon age is a great game. No. It's not like Wow. It's actually more like Baldur's gate or Neverwinter Nights in gameplay. Yes. You do control all of the characters but it's not that complicated. You'd get use to it in no time.

Ps. There's a Dragon Age 2. You might want to consider that.Dragon age series PC question?
    1. I've noticed there are a few characters following you, are they AI controlled or do you have to control each of them manually?

-%26gt; Both. You can control each member of your party. The characters you're not controlling are AI controlled. You can customize the AI in the tactics screen. For instance, if you want a mage you're not controlling to be a healer you can select a condition (if ally HP %26lt; 25%) and an action (Heal).

    2. What is the pause system for?

-%26gt; For strategic purposes. You have to change strategies on the spot and in that case it's a good idea to pause the game, tell all your party members what to do and then unpause to see how effective your strategy is.

    3. How is the controls like?

WASD to move or left mouse + right mouse button to move. Right click to attack. Drag with left miuse button to select multiple party members. Numbers keys to select skills. Tab to highlight objects uou can interact with.

Dragon Age Origins goes back to the Origin of RPG so gameplay is very similar to traditional RPGs. As you have noticed this is a play style that has been used by MMO developers. Needless to say this game is almost nothing like Mass Effect.

Dragon Age Origins and Expansion pack.?

Ive read alot of reviews lately and I really want Dragon Age Origins. But I also see that there is a stand alone expansion pack so I want it. If I buy the expansion pack do I need the original game or not for full gameplay?Dragon Age Origins and Expansion pack.?
Theres the recently released Ultimate edition which contains the original game, the expansions, and all the DLCs which I highly recommend getting its a really good deal for everything but no you cannot just buy the expansion and play you do need the original game.Dragon Age Origins and Expansion pack.?
the expansion is usually downloaded. i do not believe you can just purchase it. the expansion is an extension of the story, buy it after you beat the game.

    both are great.

Should I buy Dragon Age 2?

Should i buy Dragon age 2 for the Xbox 360?

Or should i buy Final Fantasy 13 or fallout 3?

Im looking for an RPG with a good story and gameplay.Should I buy Dragon Age 2?
That's a tough one! Fallout 3 is my FAVORITE RPG. It has an amazing story line, great characters, and is cool because it could possibly happen in the future.

Dragon Age 2 would be my second favorite out of the 3. It also has a good story line but is very long which some people like and others don't. Dragon Age 2 has only a 3rd Person view though where as Fallout 3 has 3rd person and 1st.

And Final Fantasy 13 I have never played. So if I had to choose I would pick Fallout 3. It has amazing DLCs too!

What are some games like Dragon Age?

I tried Skyrim, didn't like it (mostly it was too impersonal and the characters weren't memorable, it felt lonely). I was thinking about getting a game from the Fable series, but I heard there are some major flaws in the gameplay, like it is not challenging enough and the combat is too simple. What are some other well-rounded games similar in theme to these? What are some games like Dragon Age?
Yes the gameplay in the Fable games is too easy but personally I don't really play these games for the challenge, but mainly for the story, characters and world-design.

Although the Mass Effect games are not in the fantasy genre the characters you create and those you interact with create a highly personal gaming experience.

Many people like the Japanese RPGs, they are pretty good at creating memorable characters: Lost Odyssey, The Last Remnant, Star Ocean, etc.

However the only JRPG I liked was Nier.

Other good RPGs I think you should do some research on, I liked them myself:

    Alpha Protocol

    Risen

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic I,II

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution

    Rise of the Argonauts

    Dark Messiah Might and Magic

    Borderlands
Mass Effect is definitely up your alley.

Star Wars the old republic too.

Both games are made by Bioware and are similar in the way of interaction with NPCs. SWTOR is probably the best game Bioware as put out too.

Jade Empire and Knights of the old republic are worth checking out too. What are some games like Dragon Age?
Well, you could try BioWare's Mass Effect games if you already haven't. If you're a PC gamer there's Mount and Blade. You could also try Two Worlds II.
Seems like you dont like role playing games try Other genres like 1st person shooters.Or u could try a rpg with a different theme like mass effect. What are some games like Dragon Age?
    Skyrim, Fable 3

Demon's Souls or Dragon Age Origins?

I'm a sucker for fantasy RPG games, and I can't make up my mind on which of these games to get.

I want a challenging game, and Demon's Souls certainly fits that from what I've heard, and it's a lot more atmospheric and has better art style from what I've seen (this is my opinion), and I like that

However, I'm really into free-roaming, and I'm guessing Dragon Age has the upper hand here, plus there are more customization options here

I also have some specific questions:

Does Dragon Age have online? I already know DS does

How long will it take on my first time through Dragon Age? Demon's Souls?

What's the combat system of Dragon Age like? Demon's Souls? I've seen gameplay of both games, but I've never actually played them

Oh, and on an important note, I'm getting whatever game I choose for the PS3. I'm aware that Dragon Age is also available for PC, but mine PC isn't designed for gamingDemon's Souls or Dragon Age Origins?
Definitely Demon's Souls. I got it today for Christmas and I played it for 4 and a half hours in one sitting, it's that challenging and addicting. Be cautious though, as Demon's Souls is the hardest and most frustrating game I have ever played.

As far as I know, Dragon Age Origins doesn't have online gameplay, but I think you can download stuff. Demon's Souls does have online co-op and lets you leave messages for other players to read hints and it's really helpful. I've read somwhere that Dragon Age Origins can give you about 35 hours of gameplay. Demon's Souls will probably take you longer due to the fact that you WILL die quite frequently in the game and that the levels are pretty big.

The combat system for Dragon Age Origins is your typical KOTOR system, meaning you don't get to actually perform moves rather than choosing a move then getting to watch your character do the move. Demon's Souls has completely action-based combat. You get to block, cast spells, attack, etc. all in real time, which is A LOT more fun than Dragon Age Origins' combat system for me.

Both are great games. If you can get used to dying a lot and really want a challenge, get Demon's Souls. If you want a much easier game that relies a lot more on story, get Dragon Age Origins.
I haven't played DS so my answers is a bit bias. However, DA does not have online, its easy to get to the max level (25) through a glitch early in the game. I haven't completed it yet as there is so much stuff to explore and do. id estimate around 40-80 hr play time on dragon age. Also You can play DA with a different outcome/happenings each time based on your decisions, class, etc.

Dragon age's combat system reminds me of WoW if thats any help.

good luckDemon's Souls or Dragon Age Origins?
I suggest you buy Dragon Age Origins.

And here is the System requirement :

    Windows XP

Demon's Souls way better than Dragon Age origins.
I haven't played either but everyone I know says Dragon Age is better which it does look to be.

Is there an actual demo for Dragon Age Origins for the computer? i searched on google but all it does is show a gameplay movie. But i want a demo where i can actually play the first mission or so just to see if its really as good as its supposed to be, or just hype.Dragon Age Origins Demo?
As far as i know there is no demo for the game. I have the game; got it for xmas. I have heard rave reviews about it before hand and have never found my self doubting those reviews. Its a great game for a RPG lover. It received a 9.25 by gamer magazines and fits perfectly. GET THE GAME!

    Is dragon age 2 good?

I loved origins so i really want to get dragon age 2 for my xbox i know alot of people said its a crap game and it doesn't even compare to origins but that's there opinion i play a sequel likes its a different game so im never disappointed. so not comparing to origins does it have a good storyline/characters and good gameplay? Is dragon age 2 good?
Many might say DA2 is crap but I think it is more accurate to say it isn't as good as DA: Origins. Personally I loved it.

The game was obviously rushed, as the recycled dungeons do take a bit of the flavor away. Aside from the unpolished game play environments it has a solid story. I think allot of gamers also missed the point that the story. It was Hawke's story (the main character.) DA: Origins story was broader, so focusing on one character, I think, made people view this as a step back. In my opinion I think it adds context, or perspective to the events that play out in the DA universe and how they affect an individual character rather than a group. I believe the purpose of this narrative is meant as a prelude to DA 3.

Personally I thought all the main characters were well thought out and well presented. Varric in particular go special attention, clearly making himself an iconic character for the whole series. Kind of Like Morrigan was for the first Dragon Age. Aside from the main characters the rest of the lesser NPC do fall a little flat.

Combat though, in my opinion is vastly improved, perhaps one of the main saving graces of DA2. DA: Origins combat always felt a little too slow paced and stiff.

Bottom line: Dragon Age 2 is definitely worth a go if you are a fan of the Dragon Age universe. But rather treat it as a separate game to Origins than a true sequel. A spin-off, if you will, might be more accurate.

FYI Don't neglect the "Mark of the Assassin" DLC for DA2. It's brilliant, best to start in Act 2 or 3. The "Legacy" DLC is not as good but OK. Weapon %26amp; Armor DLC, are good but not essential. Is dragon age 2 good?
I thought it was a great game, The story line is good and solid the gameplay is catered more to consoles then the last one was and the characters are just as developed as the last one. The only down sides to the game is the lack of change of scenery, and that you cant talk to your party members whenever you want but only durring certain times. I think that most people had problems with the game because it was different then they were use to.

It may not be as great as the first in terms of story but all in all its a great game.Is dragon age 2 good?
I never played origins, so i have nothing to compare it to, but i played DA2 and i was very disappointed in just how linear it was. RPG's shouldn't lead you down a straight path. the graphics were crap. game play was mildy entertaining. on the plus side all the women had huuuge you know whats.

rpg's should be held to a higher standard. i know you hear this from everyone, but get skyrim. best game i've played in years.

don't compare one game to its sequal, compare the game to the benchmark in rpg entertainment. don't waste money and time by settling for crap.
My first playthrough I was very disappointed since I just finished Origins. But I gave it a second try and it is a pretty good game. Some things are alot better! It had good characters, some you will recognize from DAO or Awakening if you played it. But overall, I think it is a very good game and definetly worth playing!

I'm getting dragon age origins and im set as playing as the dwarf. But is it better to have a sword and shield or two handed weapon? And does it really effect the gameplay at all?Dragon Age ORigins Help Xbox 360?
My boyfriend has the two handed weapon and he rips through everything. I'd go with the two handed weapon but its all in your personal preference.

Video editing software to record gameplay and make video to put on youtube?

ok if i want to record gameplay and make music videos to them or just gameplay videos and possibly do a let's play, what do i need? i currently have fraps and camtasia (trial) but they don't work well together with youtube. they won't convert very well. what shld i get/need? and i'd prefer if it costs $ to have it under $100. i want to do this for dragon age origins. thanks in advance.Video editing software to record gameplay and make video to put on youtube?
    1. Try Bandicam. You can upload the recorded file to YouTube without converting because the recoded file size is much smaller than Fraps.

    for examples)

    - Fraps: 300MB

    - Bandicam: 15~25MB

To get 720p video for YouTube, go to Video settings menu of Bandicam, and choose "YouTube (720p)" preset.

    2. If you want to edit the video with Camtasia, choose "For Edit Premiere/Sony Vagas" preset of Bandicam. See http://www.gamerecordingprogram.com/faqs鈥?/a>Video editing software to record gameplay and make video to put on youtube?

Video editing software to record gameplay and make video to put on youtube?
Hi, guys, if you want to record gameplay videos then add music in them then upload onto youtube, that's easy, I usually use Youtube Movie Maker to do that, with it you can directly record the computer desktop screen videos when your playing your game on computer, then you can edit the recorded videos on your computer and upload on youtube, just run Youtube Movie Maker, then click record video button on Youtube Movie Maker to start record the screen video, then run game on computer, once record complete, you can edit the recorded videos on Youtube Movie Maker, such as crop, cut, add music or texts, etc, at last press "Publish to Youtube" to upload the edited video onto Youtube. You can download it from makeyoutubevideo.com, easy to use, hope it can help you.

Dragon Age Origins Yes or No?

Ok so I've heard many things about Dragon Age Origins both good and bad. I have also heard some say that its better on PC however if i was going to get it i was going to get it for the PS3.I don't care as much about the graphics as I do about the gameplay, so i was wondering if i should get it or not. I like both RPG's and Action games. Thanks for your help :PDragon Age Origins Yes or No?
It's not really an action game. It requires a lot of tactical skill then just running around Devil May Crying stuff. It's extremely good though. I prefer it for the PC simply for the mods but if your computer can't handle it, PS3 should be great.Dragon Age Origins Yes or No?
I'm enjoying it. However, like the other person said it is more about strategy and tactics and it's very character-oriented. There are battles and fighting and all and for me there's enough action, but there are also a lot of cutscenes and there's a lot of talking. At times it almost feels like you're playing an interactive movie. Whether or not it's right for you depends on your style. For my play style it's great.

EDIT: One thing that I *don't* like is that as far as I can tell you can't skip the dialogue. Don't get me wrong, they're great scenes and the voice acting is spot on, but if I'm trying to decide what class to play and I go through creating a lot of characters at one go, it's kind of hard to sit through some of those scenes over and over again.Dragon Age Origins Yes or No?
I'd say rent it first to see if you'd like it cause I've had very different opinions between friends and myself. I liked it a lot and am actually on my second playthrough. My only major complaint is only having 6 moves hotkeyed at any one time but it's more than other games like oblivion. The story is a bit short and I think downloaded content is a large part of keeping the game going. Overall I'd say its an excellent RPG and you can develop all the characters in your party which is nice.
look i'm thinking about it cuz its very good BUT....i don't like just only one thing...u have to to control a party or 3,4 members idk..u just stop the time and choose what skill to use each person on a monster ......nice graphics but i dont like that think..and it hasnt Online...well is u have'nt any prob. with those things u should take it:)

  • Dragon Age Origins Flemeths Real Grimoire?

I was considering doing Flemeths Real Grimoire, but I heard you can either kill Flemeth or trick Morrigan into thinking you did. I was wondering when doing this which outcome would have the biggest effect on future gameplay because theres always some kind of butterfly effect or ripple effect for those who dont know what the butterfly effect is. So which choice would be best kill Flemeth or make Morrigan believe I did?Dragon Age Origins Flemeths Real Grimoire?
Killing Flemeth was a bit hard, but i'm telling you, the feeling after is REALLY GOOD cuz you can pat yourself in the back and say "I am such an AWESOME strategist." The cool Morrigan robes and approval is a good bonus but do it for the experience, game and real life awesome gameplay experience. Just do it for the heck of it, it doesn't affect anything in the future. Enjoy!Dragon Age Origins Flemeths Real Grimoire?
The only advantage to killing Flemeth is you get some XP for fighting a tough boss. Flemeth never comes back again and Morrigan will tell you that she isn't really dead anyway. So the whole quest is a little bit pointless. But, you get better robes for Morrigan and a bunch of approval out of it.Dragon Age Origins Flemeths Real Grimoire?
to be honest there is no use in Flemish living because she doesn't have any use in the future anyways i would just kill her and get the key open the chest get the robe staff etc that are more useful.

Is the game "Dragon Age: Origins" fun?

My friend has been playing Dragon Age: Origins for a while now and whenever we talk on the phone, he will go on and on about how far he is in the game, what his character's class is, etc.

I watched some gameplay videos on YouTube and it looked a tad boring.

However, I have a GameFly account, so I don't have to worry about forking over $30+ dollars for a new copy.Is the game "Dragon Age: Origins" fun?
You will enjoy this game if you really enjoy RPGs. I'm a huge RPG fan and I love this game. It's really fun and in the game you get to make your own character male or female, pick your own race, and you can even romance people in the game. The game also lets you make decisions determining the outcome of the game. If you enjoy these things then you should give it a try and since you have a gamefly account it can't hurt to try the game out.Is the game "Dragon Age: Origins" fun?
Depends on if you're into RPG's really. I love the game and have extensively played it and all of it's down-loadable content (got the Platinum trophy on PS3). It's got a really gripping story line with really interesting and varied characters. If you do enjoy the game it will keep you entertained for a lot longer than most games as it has great replay value with the differing classes and races. Is the game "Dragon Age: Origins" fun?
Hey, I have a friend that was looking for some really hot games ,And another friend told us

about this page that had some Elite games and it was just what we were looking for ,This could

be what you are looking for as well

'Fun' is a relative term. If it looks boring to you, you probably won't like it. But, since you have GameFly, try it out and see for yourself.

Great RPG similar to Dragon Age?

    Hey,

I'm looking for a new RPG to play. I am a big fan of Bioware, but am more than willing to switch to other developers, just like their style. I really loved Dragon Age: Origins, Jade Empire, and KOTOR. Liked the gameplay of KOTOR and Jade Empire and the story of Dragon Age and KOTOR. I also really liked slightly open-ended, but not too open-ended (Hated Oblivion) and like being able to develop rlationships with members of your party. Characterization is big for me and I like romance options sometimes. definitely like the ability to create your character as moral, amoral, etc.

Any great suggestions, old or new?

Thanks!Great RPG similar to Dragon Age?
    Mass Effect 1 and 2
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 are sort of inferior versions of Dragon Age, more about the D%26amp;D setting than the characters, although the expansion packs tend to be better than the base games. Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer is nearly as good as Dragon Age, in my opinion. They're computer games, though, and NWN2 wouldn't be a good idea on lower-end systems.Great RPG similar to Dragon Age?
look into The Witcher, it shares alot in common with a typical Bioware game. But it is a pretty overwhelming RPG at times. (It's PC only, not sure if you play your games on PC.)

The Witcher 2 is coming out very soon as well.

EDIT: Then go try the Witcher out! There is a sale on Steam going on right now, and the complete Witcher game is on sale for FIVE DOLLARS! It's a great deal! You should go buy it right now!
White knight chronicles, it's story and quite open ended. (PS3)

Neverwinter night 2 is a good one too. Actually is amazing game.

And there's always dragon age 2 coming out soonGreat RPG similar to Dragon Age?
Try runescape it's MMORPG (Massive multiplayer online role-playing game) that has so many interesting things to do you might like it alot.
U might like "Fable" They also have "Fable 2" and "Fable 3" but I think the latter two are only for xbox360.

Which should I get, Dragon Age Origins or the second?

I've been getting into rpg's again and I've considered buying Dragon Age. I really enjoyed the plot line to Mass Effect 2 and the game itself. Seeing that Dragon Age is also made by Bioware I am eager to play one of the two games. But I've been getting mixed reviews from friends who own the games and from reviews on online sites. Some say the second is too simple when it comes to fighting and the plot is not as immersing as the first. I still don't know which to get. I like that Dragon Age two has extremely better visuals and the gameplay, although simple, may be fun. But the first one has a better story but better tactics involved in fighting. Which one should I get?Which should I get, Dragon Age Origins or the second?
what Bioware is making with the dragon age series is like stories of different characters

you've ever read a prequel to something?

prequel always makes it sound more amusing

so in the first is all fresh

and in two you're a total different character

so story revolves around this character so don't expect it to have the same background as the fist =D

also you're able to play DA2 without any knowledge of the first one

dragon age origins doesn't affect the second one that much

just sayingWhich should I get, Dragon Age Origins or the second?
I was reading somewhere that the first one has much more to it.

The second one is supposed to be pretty cool, but the reviewer said the first is clearly better.Which should I get, Dragon Age Origins or the second?
Get the first one is fun as hell and it will make the second all the better plus you have to play the first to get the second
start with the first and move to the second. there are characters and storylines that move from the first to the second

Dragon Age Origin And 2 Worth It?

at EB games i saw them both for 19.99 new Dragon Age Origin came with all of its DLC , and Dragon Age 2 i think game with 1 or 2 DLC as well im thinking about buying them both but i love RPG's i loved Mass Effect but i never played a Dragon Age game do you think it would be worth it i saw a little bit og gameplay from DA2 and it looked awesome but i don't know what did you think of both of them?Dragon Age Origin And 2 Worth It?
I have played and beaten both Dragon Age games and they were actually good. The free-flow combat of the second one really gave you a bit more room to work with to fire off combos and other such things. As Sheila said, building relationships in both games in important as it can lead to major bonuses one way or the other. And as Zombie said, $19.99 isn't that expensive since it includes some DLC. I played the console version however it was very good and easy to get into. Of course it does make you feel like the choices you make have a little more impact than most games that make similar claims say.Dragon Age Origin And 2 Worth It?
I really enjoyed them both quite a bit. A number of players bemoaned some of the changes in DA2, particularly the faster-paced combat, but I guess I'm one of the few who viewed DA2 as an improvement.

$19.99 isn't bad for either game, especially if they include DLC. I refer to the PC versions, as I've never tried the console counterparts.Dragon Age Origin And 2 Worth It?
They are good games, the best way to describe it is it's kinda like final fantasy with a bit of fable mixed in. I like the fighting system in the second one more, but in both developing relationships with other characters is important and time consuming. That seems like a pretty good deal and they will definitely keep you busy for a while as far as having a game to play goes.

I want to play Dragon Age but I know nothing about it.So would someone tell me what it is like.Does it play like Mass Effect or Oblivilon.Whats the gameplay like and is it really that good.ThanksPlease help with Dragon Age: Orgins?
puts a lot of importance on talking to each of your party, there is a fair amount of side quest not as many i i had hoped but enough to give you some freedom, combat can be very enjoyable or slow and boring depending On what kind of character build you have. ive played it so many times and i have found out that the best and most fun character is the mage and once you get the arcane warrior upgrade you will be so much stronger. Please help with Dragon Age: Orgins?
I bought it a while back and i quickly realized that the gameplay is slow but the items you can obtain come way too fast. You also have to go to multiple locations and get the assistance of there people. Some of the locations are a breeze and others are tough to the point where you have to go look it up on the computer... Which sucks.

Dragon age - Wardens Keep or return to Ostagar?

Which DLC adds more in terms of gameplay and services/new stuff?

They're both around 2 hours i've heard. Ostagar gives you that kings armor and Wardens keep you get a camp and that dude makes you a sword out of a meteor.

I only have 800 MSP left.Dragon age - Wardens Keep or return to Ostagar?
I think Warden's Keep was much better in terms of story and rewards. You get the Warden Commander Armor, Starfang, new abilities, a party storage trunk, and the plot and encounters are much more fun. RtO is not bad, it just doesn't add much to the story that you didn't already know and is basically straight forward hack and slash. You get some nice weapons and armor, but nothing else new and useful.

What Dragon Age Character should I pick? Warrior?... Mage?... Rogue?...?

I just got a copy of DOA.

I was told the it takes over 200 hours for a full playthrough.

What race/character should I pick for easiest gameplay on nightmare? What Dragon Age Character should I pick? Warrior?... Mage?... Rogue?...?
my favorite character is a rogue since they can set and detect traps, pick locks, they can backstab, and they're always a useful member to the party

Is dragon age origin going to be good?

Or is it going to be like two worlds ( a very crappy game that i stop playing on the first 20 minute gameplay). Is dragon age origin going to be good?
this is not actually a question but rather a comment, because I thought your question was really a question but rather a question on an online game. I have not played it yet but i like to if it becomes available. What drives my curiosity is the phrase "dragon age", because I was born in the year of the dragon. I will have to research further on that I guess. My dragon color actually is black, the fiercest and cruelest of the dragon tribe

Is dragon age origins any good?

(xbox 360) I need somewhat detailed information. Even looking at the gameplay doesnt help me on knowing if its good or not. It looks really cool but when i see the gameplay it looks kinda crappy. How close does the game relate to fallout? I didnt like fallout mostly because of the boring setting and kinda boring gameplay. Mass Effect is one of my favorite games but I can tell this is way more close to fallout than mass effect. What are the good and bad things about the game, how is the fighting. Is dragon age origins any good?
    Don't get this game.

    Watch this trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iFrHRaH0鈥?/a>

Looks pretty awesome right? Thats what I thought too; the game is absolutely nothing like this. Its a drag from the start, and doesn't get any better. While I may not agree with your Fallout = boring statement, I have an obligation to stray you away from this lame game.Is dragon age origins any good?
You will like this game if you love RPGs and like making decisions that will determine the outcome of the game for you. You get to choose between 3 classes warrior, rouge, and mage. You also get to choose the race of your character. You can be a human, elf, or a dwarf. The cool thing is that each class has a different story and depending on the race you pick it determines how people treat you in the game. You can be male or female and you can romance certain party members. The gameplay is good and is easy to use. You basically pick the enemy you want to attack and your character will do the rest for you. I know it may not be exciting but this game is amazing and totally worth playing. Also while your character is fighting you can choose different things for it to do and you can switch between characters while fighting and use their skills. I hope this helps you out.Is dragon age origins any good?
Well if you like the rpg element of Mass Effect, then you'll like this one because its made by the same company as who makes mass effect. But if you like the 3rd person shooter aspect, then no because this is more of a live-turn based melee combat.

I really liked it but i liked both mass effect and fallout

  • Is Dragon Age Origins worth buying if I started with Dragon Age 2?

I've bought and played through Dragon Age 2 twice. Will I be dissappointed with Dragon Age Origins since I've experienced DA2's graphics and gameplay? Is Dragon Age Origins worth buying if I started with Dragon Age 2?
Yes, I say deffinitly. I honestly really prefered Origins, and they really are completely different games. The only thing I prefered about 2 was the battle system, Origins isn't as fast pased but its similar. No tapping "a" needed too, which isn't as fun personally. But the storyline and characters are much better in my opinion.

Since u played 2 first you'll just be going "oooh" every so often in Origins when u meet a certain character, or a certain part in the story happens. Its a cool feeling. The game is so much fun, i would recommend it to anyone. Even if u played 2 first, doesn't matter. Not much spoilers anyway, some but not many really. All u know is "the hero of ferelden stopped the blight" thats nothing. You have to play it to experience it.

The graphics in DA: Origins are not as good as DA2 but then again there not all that different. They are better in ways where they better depeict some characters such as Zevran and Alistair. In Origins u can also be an elf or a dwarf if u so choose, as well as a human. You also have an origin story and depending on what path u take its always different. You can be a dwarf commoner, a dwarf noble, a dalish elf (also gives de ja vu moments), a city elf, a human noble, or a mage thats in the circle. Each path meets at a certain part, but all starts different and gives u a person that u consider a friend or what not in the beginning.

Hope this helps. I'd deffinitly get it, u wouldn't regret itIs Dragon Age Origins worth buying if I started with Dragon Age 2?
I'm more or less inclined to agree with Simon. I don't think it's a "terrible" game on it's own, but it's not a worthy sequel to Dragon Age: Origins.

DA:O is pretty different compared to DA2. From the standpoint of any RPG fanatic, especially the longtime ones, DA:O remains at the top above DA2.

Dragon Age 2 wasn't bad, but it lacked what made Dragon Age: Origins special. The tactical RPG feel was more or less gone and replaced with shallow flashiness, stinky streamlined inventories and streamlined partners, and restricted character builds compared to the first game. If you liked DA2, then you should check DA:O out to see how this all began. Is Dragon Age Origins worth buying if I started with Dragon Age 2?
I think the only thing that will disappoint you in Origins is the combat. Compared to DA2 it's going to feel a lot more slow and tedious. You also have to micromanage your inventory and equipment. Otherwise it had a great story, is much longer, and the choices you make can result in many different outcomes. It's worth playing.
Dragon age 2 and Origins are like completely different games. The second one took a whole different direction then the first one. And some people really prefer Origins to 2 but it depends on your play style because like I said..they are completely different. I doubt you'll be dissapointed with Origins but..thats for you to find out.

Dragon Age: Origins 60 to 80 hours of gameplay!?

it is a care free romp through the world where you play a character who drinks the blood of a tainted demon in order to gain the power to push back the armies of darkness. Can someone tell me about dragon age origins ?
Well there are multiple races (elf, human, dwarf) and you pick a class and an origin (where you come from) then you play a unique starting quest that sets the tone for how people and party members view you and respond to you, you find out early on that your main goal is to kill a giant dragon called the archdemon with a group called the Grey Wardens....it really is just a classic rpg

P.S. when i press continue, it sends me in my house and shows me that i need to go to the massage table, but there is no quests...Why dragon age 2 took me only about 20 hours of gameplay?
It took me about 12 hours, and I did all the side quests.

Act 1 (before Deep Roads) was the longest part, took me about 7 hours to get through, the last two Acts I just blasted through with 3 Mage and 1 Tank.

The only thing I regret is missing dinner on the day I started playing my play-through and breakfast on the next day.

No mods or hacks were used. However, this is only my 3rd run.

It's not as long as many people exaggerated, maybe if they played DA series for the first time in their life.

Well, to think on the positive side, at least now I have more time to play other games. Why dragon age 2 took me only about 20 hours of gameplay?
There are many hidden quests you will not have encountered, plus, did you do all your companion, side and secondary quests? That means unlocking the questlines and find the items which do so, also you may have not developed relationships with your companions either.

Dragon Age 2 low fps and choppy gameplay?

My computer has plenty of memory and I have 2gb of RAMDragon Age 2 low fps and choppy gameplay?
    1. 2 GB of RAM is a bit low

    2. Which video card/CPU do you have? Those are far more important than running CCleanerDragon Age 2 low fps and choppy gameplay?
    Minimum Requirements:

    OS: Windows XP with SP3

    OS: Windows Vista with SP2

    OS: Windows 7

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 (or equivalent) running at 1.8 GHz or greater

Disc Drive: DVD ROM drive required

    Hard Drive: 7 GB

Sound: Direct X 9.0c Compatible Sound Card Windows Experience Index: 4.5

It looks like your video card doesnt meet the minimum specs, and if you have that little ram and the vid card is that old, I'm going to assume your CPU is old as well; I'd recommend just buying a whole new computer and putting a new video card in it, or just buying the console version of the game if upgrading is too much ;)Dragon Age 2 low fps and choppy gameplay?

Dragon Age Origions: Romance and Gameplay?

I was wondering if anyone knew how to get all the romance outcomes with Morrigan and Leliana and if anyone new either a very detailed or brief summary of all the different ways you can change the game by making certain choices.Dragon Age Origions: Romance and Gameplay?
The easy way to get the romance outcomes is to download the Feastday gifts. Just give them presents until you influence them as much as you can and choose the correct romance conversation choices in camp. Leliana's may involve you resolving her issues with Marjolaine though (take her with you and you'll eventually get ambushed and she'll give you the quest).

Too many ways to change the game based on choices to list them all.Dragon Age Origions: Romance and Gameplay?
Well, depending on which side you pick in the three main parts, you can change what allies you can summon in the final battle, but for me to go into more detail or give more examples would take far too long.

    Dragon age origins.. gameplay questions?

v just started playing this game and on meeting the quartermaster at the first camp (before the initiation) I sold off some armour and weapons to buy better armour. On entering the Wilds and equipped with my new party I noticed some of them had inferior armour/weapons and no helmets.. Should I have kept the stuff I had to kit out my party or wouldnt this make a difference?? Also anyone have any good tips that they would have done if they started the game again ?? I dont like to read walkthroughs or use cheats as I think it spoils the game play.. Also Im playing human warrior, can i still perform magic?? Ideas for best skills to acquire??

Thanks .. Great game play by the way !!Dragon age origins.. gameplay questions?
starting it doesnt make much diffrence, it encumbers and slows them down, the higher quality stuff is worth keeping though, and equiping to yourself and your party members, the cheapo stuff is better left or sold as your party members have pretty good armour and weapons to start with.

if you want to make more money, try to stick with the smaller items that you pick up, and leave the huge suits of armour (keep the good ones to sell on) as they take up a lot of space and are not really worth that much.

i dont think the human worrior can do magic, but you will be able to control other people in your party that can do magic, you might be able to do a few diffrent spells (not sure though) but your main thing is fighting and using your weapons, i would concentrate on upping your dexterity, strength and getting attributes to do with your weapons that you like to use, and upping the single/double weapon attributes.

make sure that the weapons and things that you put on, dont slow the player down too much (as some of them have negative effects).

    Edit_

your party members do 'stick around' and depending on what you say to them or do in there presence, they will either like you or hate you, and your limmited to 3. one thing that i was worried about when it first happend, if one or more of your members die in a battle, dont worry, as long as there is 1 person still alive, once the battle is over they will all be back to normal. and make sure you have a theif in your party, as they can open chests and get you some good loot!Dragon age origins.. gameplay questions?
Keeping that stuff would have made a small difference in the short term. But you will find better equipment for your entire party very soon.

As a warrior, you can not do magic. You have the warrior calss abilities instead.Dragon age origins.. gameplay questions?
Dragon Age Origins is an awesome game, don't worry about your party members, they won't be around with you much longer...just get through the forest, do all the quests, I really didn't upgrade too much until I reached lothering. You will not be able to preform magic as a warrior, but later in the game try to specialize as a "Reaver", that specialization has some pretty cool abilities (kinda like magic, but not really) As for skills, don't waste your time with archery or dual wield, focus on shield stuff and also try to max out your coercion skill as it come in handy a lot of the time

    How is Dragon Age: Origins?

Okay so I'm thinking of buying Dragon Age: Orgins after reading about the sequel Dragon Age 2 thats going to release next year. I know Dragon Age got great reviews and did really well but would I like to know how the gameplay is. Would I like it as a player coming from other Bioware games like Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect? How is Dragon Age: Origins?
Well the Game Play would be much similar to KotOR because you have a party of 4 and have to control what each character does. Sometimes it gets irratating because you die alot until you figure out what character does what and etc.. so Honestly I would say you will like it, but personally coming from an Oblivion and WoW player, I didnt. How is Dragon Age: Origins?
Dragon age is a great the story has a way of pulling you into it and the combat is so different because you can set up all the characters in your group to use certain tactics when your are not controlling them ex: Mages uses a fire ball when enemies cluster together or use heal when party member drops to low on health. How is Dragon Age: Origins?
its a pretty good game in my opinion, i have yet to finish it but id give it two thumbs

    Dragon Age Origins or Oblivion?

I like Rpgs with a good since of adventure in the story which needs to be good. Also with unaturally long hours of gameplay. I think one the top most important thing a great RPGs need is good towns to travel to. I know oblivion has more but was wondering if dragon age has a decent amount also which combat is overall better to you?Dragon Age Origins or Oblivion?
    =====Oblivion======
Great storyline, but that's a matter of opinion.
Lots of different towns, each with their own feel. I highly recommend getting the game of the year edition so you can get the Shivering Isles
Combat can get a little clunky. It relies totally on you to aim, but it's not a bad way to play. No auto-attacking, no auto-spells. Once you hit really high level and get the right gear, though, the combat becomes dramatically less challenging.

    ====Dragon Age=====
Assuming you mean Dragon Age 1.....

Great storyline, but that's a matter of opinion.
There are a varied amount of different towns, but not nearly as many as Oblivion, plus they aren't nearly as expansive and there's only a limited amount of things to do in them. I did like visiting the Dwarf City, though.
Combat in this game is relatively straight forward. Click or pick your target, your character auto-attacks them, and then you use magic and whatnot.

    ===Conclusion===
Oblivion fits your specifications more. There's lots to do, lots of places to go, and moreover, the game does not have an 'end'. That and Oblivion will last you longer. Even if you played straight without sleep and no breaks for any reason, it would probably still take you around a week of this kind of punishment just to finish each and every quest or optional path in the game.
    Both play QUITE differently.

Dragon age is a more linear CRPG. Thus, combat and exploration consists of overhead view of all of your party members. Combat consists of selecting powers from a skillbar, setting tactics in the tactics menu, and switching between party members.

Dragon age has a more defined plot, though it offers little free exploration. Most of the side quests are just fetch quests, or defeating a few enemies.

Oblivion is an open world, create-your-own story kind of game. The main plot of the game isn't very strong- but there are so many places to explore and side quests to do, such as the faction quests. Oblivion also has a HUGE modding community (tesnexus.com, http://planetelderscrolls.ign.com/) which improve graphics, combat, and add more content. Combat is either first or third person, with active attacking.

I personally prefer oblivion, as it is a much larger game, and less linear.Dragon Age Origins or Oblivion?
I honestly couldn't stand Dragon Age. I bought it for $60 and played it for about 5 hours. Never touched it again. I'd say get Oblivion. They are coming out with the 5th anniversary which will have all the addons, plus trophies. (if your on PS3)

Dragon Age is a bit linear. Its not really an "open" world. You can choose different places to go, but that's as open as it gets. Oblivion lets you go everywhere and anywhere. I'd say get Oblivion (I didn't like it that much, but that's just me)
get oblivion you can free roam around a city you go in dungeons you can ride dragons theres numerous amounts of quests theres people to ineract with billions of mods theres a mod where you add morrowind to the game so you can play morrowind or oblivion (morrowind is the one before oblivion) tons of endings everything you can think of in an rpg or your favorite rpg is in here heres a link to the game on xbox.comDragon Age Origins or Oblivion?
Loki Letheran beat me to it. Give him best answer, becuase he's pretty much right. Oblivion is much better than Dragon Age Origins. But I strongly suggest you get the Game of the Year edition. It's only like $30 or less now. Plus, it gives you more content that will make gameplay last longer for you.
Go for gragon age. dragon age 2 (even better)
Dragon Age, that RPG is ALOT like Fable but much more fun
